Shops - including a Cash & Carry open to the public - are located immediately outside the park, as is the bus route.

Walton on Naze -  is just 3/4 mile away - a comfortable walk mainly along the sea front, passing large children's play and adventure area. The town is lively and well served with car parks important for Market Day when everyone is looking for a bargain. Beaches are sandy and at road  level making bathing a joy. Glorious walks along the Naze cliffs give panoramic views of ships entering the and leaving the international ports of Harwich and Felixstowe.

Colchester - in addition to being England's oldest town with roman remains and a fine Norman castle, it now boasts a magnificent shopping centre with all major outlets represented: Marks and Spencer, Debenhams, etc.

Clacton on Sea - premier East Coast resort with its famous pier and amusement centre.

Dedham Vale and "Constable Country" - home of the artist John Constable. Glorious area for walks and picnics by the river.

Harwich - historic town and international port.

Take a day trip to Holland or Belgium or a river cruise up the Stour and Orwell. Why not a days fishing with fish for supper?
